And Box 23 bails him out! Good for him. :smt023

Only saw the final part, but an unfortunate result from reasonable risk taking.

Now, what will Box 23 have to offer?

I wouldn't call declining the average on an all-or-peanuts finish reasonable risk-taking. :?

Still, Daniel got bailed out by Box 23 in the end. :smt023

Box 23 saves another life. Not bad.

Very questionable NO DEAL at the end there. He could've been £1,495 better off if he took the offer.

After the 1.8% chance trainwreck round
the perfect ending for a very popular contestant!

I wonder. If he had the £3000 in his box at the end instead of the £5 would he have purchased box 23 after the game he just had??

These were the type of games Box23 was made for.

Probably. But no way if he had dealt the £15,000.

A fair point. I suppose a lot of the time, players are thinking to themselves, am I comfortable turning down this sum of money in the hope of getting more, and with the possibility of winning peanuts. We've seen a lot of statistically poor offers dealt in that situation because the player answered no, and the flipside is that we sometimes get situations like Daniel - and Ducali - who turn down good offers at 2-box, simply because (regardless of statistics) the offer is a sum of money they were comfortable to turn down.

The 2-box decision aside, I don't think Daniel was outlandish in turning down any of the offers - losing just one of the top 3 (the most likely scenario) at 8-box should still have produced a decent get-out at 5-box. At least it came good for him in the end.
