What a nasty crash from one of the strongest ever boards at the 3rd offer. :(

At least Clare avoided a total by completely citing her losses when she did. :smt023

The result of this game is pretty much in line with recent results on Le Banquier. Contestant gets a good offer on a strong board, decides to play on, highest amount is eliminated in the next round, offer plummets, contestant plays defeatist card and accepts offer.

Unfortunate result from reasonable gambling. Hopefully she won't have too many regrets. :smt023

Unlike Le Banquer where the Banker generally makes a no-brainer above the average offer once a player loses their safety net, the Banker on this version usually makes low-balled punishment offers to try and drag players into a total crash. :(

It's probably been said before, but the Banker on this show is a sadist sometimes. His French-Canadian counterpart makes generous offers all the time, and more often than not, they're well above the average (i.e., $800 on a $5/$1,000 final two; $185,000 on a $125,000/$200,000 final two).

I often ridicule the players on this version for their failure as a result of greed - this IS a legitimate reason why some of them have done as poorly as they did - but sometimes, their failure is Banker-induced by rubbish offers and zero help from Box 23.
