It really is a roughly once-every-100-years event to have that opening, 1 in 26,334...

Slightly more than a 10% chance of that opening round ever happening in the 2900-odd shows we had the chance for it to happen in, incidentally.

Great result from a game none of us will ever forget! :smt023

This is the type of show that producers of other versions of DOND (cough, cough, Canada) should be made to watch to show that you don't need big money games to make the show great.

Such a lovely lady and almost the perfect person for the nightmare start to happen to given the way she took it.

Wow! That opening round!

Something I thought we'd never see in a conventional game, to think it took nearly 3,000 attempts for it to happen!

What a lovely lady, £5,000 out of a game that started the way it did is a cracking result! :smt023

Funnily enough, Alan who played on this date 10 years ago came close to losing all 5 of the power 5 in the first 5 boxes when he took out £35k, £50k, £75k and £100k in the first four boxes, but luckily stopped it by finding the 1p in the last box!

Well at least we can now stop ambiguity about what is the worst start ever.

Given Jean had taken out £250k/£75k/£50k/£35k at this point (a total of £410,000) and Buzz took out £250k/£100k/£75k/£15k/£10k (a total of £450,000), where the Banker came up with "anything over £1,000" is anyone's guess.

Given the show has seemed to forget every game from 2006 except Morris's and Gaz's, I'm not surprised. ;)

Ironically, i actually found Rob's game from December 2005 on YouTube the other night, and Jean's game REALLY reminded of Rob's game - The power-5 gone is one go and early, £10k and £15k were the only reds at 8-box, than a much-needed turnaround near the round, and £10k on the table!
