Blatant lies in the prove out offers aside something feels a bit off about this in the current context of cost of living.

When the answer to "what would you do with £11,800" is "helps with wife's maternity leave, means I won't have to work as much overtime so I can spend time with my family, and maybe we'll be able to afford a holiday" it does rather take the shine off things.

Having said all of that of course he's going to deal and the prove out didn't make comfortable viewing especially with the blatant lies rub his face in it offers.
