Today's show commentaries - informationShow count16 shows are not included in the show count, in accordance with the official show numbers which were on display in the studio for some time. These are: the celebrity shows, the '8 Out of 10 Cats' special, the 10th anniversary special (where Noel Edmonds played) and the 2013 'Christmas Star' show (the 2007-8 'Christmas Star' shows were, however, included in the show count).
PurposeThe commentaries are provided as reference so you can read back what happened during a past game. You can also read other people's comments on each show. Contestants themselves also provide comments sometimes!
Each forum member can post their own comments in each commentary topic, including their thoughts on the show and the player. You may post a comment about a game up to 30 days after it was originally broadcast. After this period, the game's commentary will be locked and no more posts may be made in it, but you can still read existing comments.
Everyone, including the contestants and employees of Endemol, can read these topics. Please think about what you are posting! Hiding behind your keyboard is not an excuse to post offensive material. You have the right to post your opinions, but please note that derogatory and/or offensive comments will be edited and/or removed
at the discretion of the moderators and admins of this site, without notice (see the Forum Rules section
HERE for more info). Persistent breaking of the rules could result in warnings and/or bannings.

Can I read the commentary without the extra comments from other users?Yes - at the bottom of each commentary page, there is an addition which says "For today's show commentaries: Choose name of commentator and click Go:" - click the commentator for the show thread you're reading and click "Go". This will show only the commentary posts for that show. On the rare occasion someone else commentates, enter their name in the box labelled "Other commentator" and click "Go".
What do some of the abbreviations such as "OPW" mean? For a glossary of the terms used on the forum, have a look at the "DONDDictionary" by clicking

For more about the stats etc. referred to in the commentaries, see the bottom of this post. What do the people posting the commentaries (the "commentators") gain from doing the commentaries? The commentators personally gain nothing (financially or otherwise) from providing the commentaries. It is done purely to help maintain an archive of shows after they have been aired, and to enable fans of the show to enjoy reading and commenting about the shows.
Can I post something about a show which hasn't been broadcast yet?Comments about shows which have not yet been broadcast are
strictly prohibited in the today's show threads. Not only does it spoil the enjoyment of the shows for others, but releasing information about untransmitted shows is breaking the legal deed of confidentiality which audience members and contestants have signed with Endemol.
Explanation of stats used in the commentaries (compiled originally by Tom22)Note: These are normally only found in the older commentaries.Do you see this…
Stats after Round 1 Offer:
£8,500 Mean: £25,274.51
Offer (%): 33.63%
Fair Deal: £7,667.68
Cash left on board: £429,666.61
Volatility: 1.39
Board balance: -17
… and think what the hell?
Well here is some sort of guide!
Stats after Round X: So the stats come after every offer has been made. Round 1 at 17 box, 2 at 14 box, 3 at 11 box, 4 at 8 box, 5 at 5 box and Round 6 at 2 box and the final offer.
Mean: The mean is simply just the sum of all the remaining amounts divided by how many amounts are left. (On a full board this is £25,712.
12)
Offer (%): This measures how good the offer is by taking the offer that’s just been made divided by the mean multiplied by 100 to gain a percentage. At the moment (Show 754 – 800 thanks to StatsMan) the benchmarks for the offers are…
Round 1 offers: 24% of the mean
Round 2 offers: 28% of the mean
Round 3 offers: 31% of the mean
Round 4 offers: 34% of the mean
Round 5 offers: 44% of the mean
Round 6 offers: 71% of the mean
Using these figures you can tell when an offer is made how generous it is, although with the recent run of bad boards and cautious players these figures are a bit lower than normal.
Fair Deal: The Fair deal stat is a bit more complicated than the previous but it does provide an interesting insight into how good the offer is. It is measured by taking the average of the square root of every amount left on the board which is then squared, on a full board the fair deal is £9,215.
40.
Cash Left on Board: This is just simply the total amount of cash left on the board and can be used to measure how good the board is. (On a full board this is £565,666.
61)
Volatility: Volatility is simply how dangerous the board is and is measured by dividing the highest amount left on the board with the cash left on the board minus the highest amount left. (On a full board this is 0.79)
Board Balance:This measures which way the board is swinging too. Each amount is given a value, the blues (1p to £750) from 11 to 1, the reds (£1,000 to £250,000) from 1 to 11. These values are totalled up and the total of the blues is taken from the reds. (Obviously on a full board this is going to be 0, but at 11 box if it is the perfect game the balance would be 66 (the max) and if it is the disaster game the balance would be -66 (the min))
Board The board is the board and is squashed down at the same time as the show….
