It was a cruel game for Brad but I can see why he played on. Such a shame it didn't work out for him. Hopefully he can still fulfil as many of his dreams as possible.

Fellow contestant Rochelle has set up a crowd funder for Brad: https://www.gofundme.com/f/37j2m2k6ko?m ... e=customer

It's currently at £6,773 with 590 donations and has grown by £500 in the last 20 minutes alone.

His crowd funder is now at £20,680, which is great news. Brad was devastated after his game and the money will go a long way.

Motor neurone disease has very few medications that help and it is a slow and cruel death sentence, so it is kind of so many people to have donated that much so far.

Yes, it's incomprehensibly cruel - to the extent that when my grandad had it last year, our family came to see it as a genuine blessing that he only had to spend three or four months noticeably losing his quality of life. He could still walk, and speak. He still had some dignity. In any other context, it was a horrific scene; within the context of the cruelty of MND, he was unbelievably fortunate.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Now up to £30k, topping Stevie’s win yesterday! I wonder if the Banker chipped in ;)

The fundraiser has now reached £85,363 from over 7,000 donations and is still going up. It was at £45,000 yesterday! It's been covered by various media outlets, including BBC WM, which has no doubt helped spread the word about it.

Can he exceed the top prize available on the show?

The fundraiser has passed £90K now. Rochelle posted an update:
Quote:
Hello everyone,

I didn’t think that I would be updating SO MANY OF YOU!

I just want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all incredible.

You have changed Brads life and I will never be able to say thank you enough.

We are wishing you all a very merry Christmas and HAPPY HEALTHY new year.

You have done an amazing thing for Brad and you should all be so proud of yourselves for your kindness.

Xxx

That's probably why it's broken the £100k barrier in the last hour - £101,627 now.

Wow. Good for him. Fully deserved. Brad's game was utterly heartbreaking.

Might as well retire the series now, as nobody can top that, unless they bring back the £250k or Box 23…

If only, as a society, we were able to make this kind of generosity, community spirit and kindness to one another our default setting.

Unfortunately, reading the comments on one of their FB page, looks like an ex contestant who won a P5 amount on the original, thought it was funny he won £5

Name and shame, please…

Fitting that Rochelle was the biggest on-screen winner of the series given what she did for him (though that was presumably after her iwn game was filmed as well!)

The first ever one, Maurice

It was 35k Maurice. Got official proof it was the same Maurice who laughed at him winning £5

And Maurice gambled a similar sum to Brad at one stage (£13,000) on a precarious board to get to that big win. I imagine it wouldn't have been so funny to Maurice had he found the 75k and 250k in the round after his 13k no deal and he crashed as well.

Well, the fiver had a silver lining for Brad who has ended up “winning” more than anyone on the current game board ever could in actual play… if he’d gone away with a low red it would probably never have happened as it did.

In fact he got more than 99.99 percent of people on the original! He's not far off getting £120,000!
