I think they’re scared of early deals with an hour to fill, hence the trivial early offers. That was still an issue to an extent in the original, but the offers did tend to go up and down from one round to the next, whereas now they seem to gradually edge upwards each time unless there’s a complete wipeout round, so usually little incentive to go before five-box.

I did wonder if they might address that by dropping the “one game per show” format, with the added benefit of overnight mid-game cliffhangers… would be a big departure from what we’re used to, though.
