Nick's Game Report
Noel greets us in summer mode today sporting a short sleeved shirt, and comments on the way this season has continued the unfortunate end to last season with low wins. He encourages the contestants to play with courage and forget about the previous 200+ games.....
Today's contestant is Nick an AV installer from Romford, Noel comments that he knows Romford well as he used to live there. Nick has his girlfriend with him in the audience and Noel has a bit of flirty banter with her. Nick has box 13 today, but says he is not superstitious.
Round 1
18 - £500 greeted with cheers
1 - £100,000 greeted with groans all around the studio, Nick says it's still early days.
6 - £3,000
11 - 1p Nick will not be joining his namesake in the 1p club today
16 - £1,000
Noel has a little chat with Nick before the banker and Nick reveals that he was previously a salesman in a Hi-Fi shop but was too honest and won't oversell to his customers so went changed to installing electrical systems, Nick says his motto is 'Who dares wins'. The banker likes the honesty side to Nick but the motto borrowed from the SAS doesn't go down well, Nick then comes back to say it's not borrowed from the SAS it's borrowed from Del Boy on Only Fools and Horses.
The Banker goes on with an opening offer of £8,000 - This is declined by Nick
Round 2
Nick wants to stand for this round, so Noel jumps in his chair.
9 - £250
17 - £1
21 - £50
An all-blue round, fantastic second round.
Noel goes to a few contestants while waiting for the banker to ring with what could be an interesting offer, the contestants all encourage Nick with what is a great board. The Banker calls and says that he is shaken!! He says 'Bravo 2 zero and if you don't accept the offer you are a plonker' offer is £20,000. This greeted by great appalause around the studio and Nick admits it's a fantastic offer and he has never had £8,000 in his account let alone £20,000 but says 'NO DEAL'
Round 3
22 -£10
8 - £100 studio erupts into applause
2 - £5 the whole studio goes wild
FANTASTIC round again with another All-Blue round
Nick is amazed at the game and says he needs his seat back, the banker calls and asks Nick if he could look at the colour balance on the board as it seems to be faulty and showing too much red. He goes on to offer £31,000. Nick looks overwhelmed with the offer and says he is getting speechless with these offers, his girlfriend also says it is a fantastic offer but there is still a great board up there. Nick Says 'NO DEAL' and then whips the audience up into a frenzy......
Round 4
14 - £10,000
4 - 50p
10 - £750
Another superb round for Nick with only one blue remaining on the board. Nick says he needs to sit down again before hearing the offer.
Noel asks the banker for no mind games now starts to wind up the banker with a bit of banter about his chequebook. The banker apologises for his earlier sarcastic comments regarding Nick's motto.
The banker makes an offer of £45,000, Nick is looks even more overwhelmed with this offer and says he needs help on this offer. He goes to his fellow contestants and starts with Lance who says
that is a fantastic offer but to make up his own mind on it as he is not getting involved and then performs a little chicken dance. Nick gets a little more advice before deciding to DEAL and take the £45,000
Proveout rounds now, with such a strong board was it the right move?
Round 5
12 - £250,000 Superb - Studio erupts as the box is revealed
20 - 50p
15 - £75,0000
The 2 highest values on the board removed and the banker would have offered £25,000
Round 6
19 - £15,000
3 - £35,000
5 - £50,000
Excellant proveout round and shows what a fantastic deal Nick has made. The banker would have offered £10,000 at this stage with £20,000 and £5,000 left on the board.
Noel opens Nick's box 13 to reveal £5,000 and proves what a superb game Nick played.
Noel says that this would have been a superb opening game for the new season but it's only a day late. It's seems to have been a while now that the banker has taking a hammering, but Nick has done this.
