It's usually not a good idea to post one of these introduction threads four or five years after you've joined the forum (and subsequently retired from it), but I figured some of you wanted to get to know man behind some of the nonsense you've seen posted here over the past few years.
Anyway, my name is Mark. For as long as I can remember, I've been the only member from the forum who hails from The Great White North, A.K.A. Canada. Once upon a time, we had our own version of DoND up here, along with a much better-known American equivalent. However, neither one was any good for a multitude of reasons. Both ended up getting canned after a while, which I think was a smart idea.
I joined this forum to discuss the U.S. version and so on, as there was usually quite a bit to talk about (mostly related to contestant stupidity, etc.). Eventually, I was promoted to International Section mod, as I had been doing recaps of the U.S. version from time to time. I picked up the slack after I scared poor Jim Raygor away from this site. To date, I have no idea what's happened to him. I hope he’s all right.
One thing I became famous (or infamous) for was my disliking of low wins. Before I joined this forum, 1p was something you did in the washroom. I also became known for having a hindsight of 20 / 20 (my eyesight is far less than that, but that's another story for another day). Later on, I introduced Box 23, which classified the result of every game played. Box 23 was fun for a while, but it eventually began to irk the ire of basically everyone involved with this site. This led to the replacement of the words E p i c F a i l with Banana Sandwich, my position changed from mod to pariah, and my eventual retirement. However, my "role" was eventually filled by a combination of killersbee and another Mark.
And now, for some information about the man himself. I'm 24, and I live in the city of Montreal, Quebec. That doesn't necessarily mean that I speak French, though. My French is so bad, I should be deported to neighbouring Ontario or something.
In June of 2010, I graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. I had some success as a sports writer, but unfortunately, that came to an abrupt halt in November 2010, when the content farm I worked for shuttered its Montreal office and outsourced all of its work to Pakistan. Before that happened, I had been covering NHL hockey (I’m a big fan of that; it comes with being Canadian), and UK greyhound racing for the site’s UK audience (Lord knows how many times I recapped races held at Hall Green Greyhound Stadium in Birmingham). Recapping greyhound races with another writer was rather difficult at first, but we both learned to have fun with it later on. I’m wondering if there are any racing fans on this site.
I am also a big radio geek, and I work as a volunteer for a Montreal radio station known as 1650 AM Radio Shalom (
http://www.radio-shalom.ca). I work as a newscaster, ad writer, call screener, reporter, and producer. We have about 12 loyal listeners; 15 on a good day (LOL

). If you want to hear me, listen in between 6 and 8 PM, and then from 8 to 9 PM. All times are Eastern Standard Time (I think that’s about five or six hours behind UK time).
After a massive dry spell, I finally got a new job recently. I now work for a world-renowned drug awareness foundation called the International Drug Awareness Research Foundation (IDARF) as a communications officer of some sort. My first project will be to redesign their website with the help of a top graphic designer. I’ll be supplying content and ideas, in addition to handling the editing of said content.
Since we no longer have DoND in North America, I have found other sources of entertainment on television (although I must admit, my friends and I agree that British TV is far better than what we get up here). Dragons’ Den has become a personal favourite recently, as I find it to be a highly interesting and entertaining program (we have our own version in Canada). Unfortulately, I’ve seen the UK equivalent, and I found it to be rather boring. I mean no offense by that; it’s just my personal opinion.
I must admit, however, that some of your game shows intrigue me. The Chase (Mark Labbett FTW), The Cube, and new hit Secret Fortune are quite good; as is QI (Stephen Fry is brilliant). According to BuzzerBlog a U.S. game show blog with I’m sure some of you are familiar with, Nigel Lythgoe is slated to bring Secret Fortune to the U.S. market soon. And for the record, I can’t stand Million Dollar Money Drop (U.S. equivalent of The Million Pound Drop Live). To me, it is one of the worst game show concepts ever.
Like user RMF1254, I too have a passion for both buses and photography, as evidenced here:
http://www.transitfan.com/gallery/MDavid (my personal transit gallery). Yes, I think Routemasters are awesome, but to me, nothing beats a GM New Look or an MCI Classic. So, yeah, there actually are two transit fans on this site. In fact, my current avatar is part of the logo of the STM, Montreal’s transit system.
Well, I guess I’ve said enough. I’ve also broken the record for the forum’s longest (and longest overdue) introduction. I hope you got some level of enjoyment out of reading this. And with that being said, I shall take my leave once again.
Best,
-M.

(P.P.S., I have figured out the identity of new user Winner. He is none other than Charlie Sheen. How did I figure that out? Duh, Winning. You're welcome
