Just been reading posts about the 600th show when came across a note saying it should only be 599 as Amanda's shown was never aired or something? Can anyone explain as Ive only been into DOND for the past 5 or 6 months and am very new to this forum. Thanks

Amanda was a player last year who's game was meant to be shown a year ago this Saturday. However, her stepson died after the show was recorded, and I think the family requested the game not to be shown.

Ah yes, Amanda's game. It's very unlikely that it'll be shown now.

Yes that does seem to mix up the amount of games we've had. But then again, technically she did play. But what I find interesting, and annoying, is the way that Noel seems to just hush over these occurrences.

He mentioned nothing about poor Amanda leaving, nothing about any other contestant who has left. When CJ left (???) he just ignored it as if he had never noticed, and when Joseph returned after we'd probably forgotten about him, he just says 'Where have you been?!' when he probably knew fine that he was seriously ill. :?

Amanda's show was just cut though. They didn't know what would happen at the time when it was filmed.

I agree with CJ though that was odd and joseph....

How could he possibly mention Amanda "leaving", she didn't leave, her game was recorded as normal and all this was months before the events that caused her show to not be broadcast. If he commented on it when it happened, it would have been in a show broadcast in about March... :?

I'm sure once they decided not to show her game, the producers cut out any references to her game in the next show deliberately, as there's no point referring to the outcome of a game nobody saw.

I can understand the producers not wanting to make an issue of CJ either.

I am curious though. Did she really sell 10p for 11.5K or was that a hoax? :? Sarah (Bunhead) or Ned never wanted to tell us.

What seemed to be fairly accurate details of Amanda's game were posted in this thread here - http://www.dond.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 086#309086

 Of course that's right. Although still, it could have been noted that Amanda's game would not be shown, rather than the possibilty being left open, even if it wasn't said by Noel.

Once I can find the link again, I will post it.

But on Facebook there is a picture of Amanda with Noel at the table, looking quite happy.

The following show (Anne-Marie's) was quite odd as they had to edit the intro to remove the details of Amanda's game, so you had it all done in front of shots of contestants as Noel said "Welcome to Deal or No Deal! (edit) And I can guarantee we're going to have another INCREDIBLE game today".

I remember there being a lot of confusion over the newbie/s...you had Karen who replaced Amanda, then you had Wrighty who was a newbie on TV but not on the show as he'd have been the newbie in Amanda's game (so no 'Welcome to the game', he just was there as if he always had been)...and then to complicate matters further, Noel called Brian 'Seth', making people get even more confused and thinking there were three newbies!

You are right Billy! Anna-Marie's game was really strange, and a very deflated game and atmosphere too. Also, remember that Amanda's game was the last of the previous day, so Anna-Marie's game was when the newbie Karen, and Wrighty, had had an overnight hotel stay to become acquainted with their fellow contestants.

The editing on DOND is always interesting and, in my opinion, often very poorly done! Especially with the audience reactions, they're the worst...
