Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this years Christmas shows compared to the episodes last year.

Last years main Christmas theme was the two £500,000 special games we got on Christmas and Boxing day. But we also had the likes of the Banker giving out extra gifts from 3 boxes (who could forget the Banker's stained underpants), Noel and his £50 boxes for anyone with some advice. All the players had a stocking which the Banker put a present in on Christmas day, the Banker also had some special crackers in a tree and other Christmas fun as well.

This year the theme was Scrooge or Santa which altered the way your game played at 5-box. We also had the inclusion of Eamonn the turkey.

I actually prefered last years Christmas shows as I felt they were more Chirstmassy and jolly and seemed to be more fun and the fact that they were actually screened during Christmas week made more sense.

As for this year while I enjoyed the Scrooge and Santa elements plus all the costumes and everything else were great, I just didn't feel the shows had as much Christmas feeling and overall not as fun and jolly as I expected. Maybe that was due to the bad luck featured through-out the week that didn't help matters?

This year's Christmas shows had more twists in them and were probably more interesting - but overall, I probably enjoyed last year's more to be honest. It was made very special by just keeping the Christmas twsits to four shows... and they were broadcast on the two big days themselves. Having said that, I have really enjoyed the twists this year, the costumes, graphics and extra music. I think if this week's shows had had more luck and were broadcast actually during Christmas rather than before it, then I'd have preferred this year.

Last years were more interesting in all honesty.

Yeah last years were better. They were nice ordinary shows with a Christmasy feel. I only really enjoyed Stephen's and Patricia's games this time TBH.

This year's certainly pushed the boat out with gameplay and visual twists - but I still preferred last year's on balance.

That said, two undisputed classic games back-to-back this week means we'll probably remember this year for longer!!
