I think I'd actually ask to have the original amount taken off the board, as I picked it in the first place, so we can just continue quickly.

If that's not allowed, I'd ask for the remaining boxes to be shuffled.

I would've asked for the £250,000 to have gone! I've picked it once and I shouldn't have to pick it again. I'd also liked to have known what was in my box before it was reshuffled, also.

Same here.

I wouldn't want to start again, even if I was having a bad game. Mind you though, if he got to 5-box with all blues remaining and then an amount was missing from a box, would they give him the option to start again then? I assume that once it gets past a certain point in the game, they don't give the option to start again.

With the £100K and 75K gone as it had - I think I'd go for the restart.

I'd be tempted to start the whole game again - especially if I'd lost some of the bigger amounts, as he had...

I would do the same as Cookie Monster. I would want to know what was in my box before it was reshuffled!

If the average was less than the full board average (£25,700 and something) I'd have gone for the restart and used it in my favour. Today, I'd have gone for the reshuffle.

That's a very good point, if I'd open it first to see for myself.

I would do what David did and continue with the game. Starting again could make the game worse. :D

They should have just played on with the £250k removed as it was supposed to be in that box.

I'd have reshuffled as t would have been quite easy to have got in a worse position by starting all over again. I think it was only right that Noel didn't just say "That box was supposed to have the 250k in, therefore it's out of the game, so continue from here", as you wouldn;t have known either way until all the other boxes were proven not to have had it!

If David had chosen to re-start his game, how would that have worked with regards to the final edit? Would they have explained what happened at the start and just shown his "second" game, or would they have re-started and just had a very fast first few rounds? :?

I know, but I'd ask for the amount to be removed before seeing at as if it's a blue, it would have been good for me, and if it's the QM, I'd consider it unfair that I get two shots at hitting it while others only get one.

I'd have said "That's the amount I chose to take out, so now it's out of the game".

Plus I'd be slightly suspicious if my box came back to the table reshuffled with 1p or 50p in it, and also if it got £250,000!

This is the post that I made in the Today's Show thread about the probable reason why they couldn't just continue the game:

I suspect the reason why they had to reshuffle or start again and not continue with the game is there was the slim chance that there could have been something wrong with one of the other boxes.

If, for whatever reason, an amount was left out of one of the other boxes too then there would have been no way of knowing which amount was in which box.

So although there was a very slim possibility that there could have been a problem with another box, that chance was still there (as proven by the £250,000 being left out of box 2). Because of that, the only fair options were to reshuffle or start again.

I would have personally just asked for the reshuffle and would probably ask to know what was in my box originally...the game that David had wasn't bad enough in my view to warrant a restart.

And H, i was wondering how they would have done that...

A reshuffle - but it wouldn't have taken a much worse position for me to seriously consider the restart, it was a bit precarious!

I think I would have probably started again because on balance the board was not that great at that point in the game.

In David's situation and the board he had, I would of reshuffled and I would of liked to have seen the contents of my box and the remaining ones.

In another situation I may of taken the restart.

I also wondered what would of happened if David had chose to re-start the game. Would they have just scrapped the first one and pretend it never happened or would they make some kind of explanation at the start?

With all the pilgrims & contestants on the show at any one time there's no way Endemol could have covered it up as if nothing happened and with all the recent scandals in TV, if word had got out about Endemol covering something up then it wouldn't of looked good for DOND, Endemol or C4.

That's why they planned to keep it in the final edit, I believe. With Massimo's game, they clearly planned to edit it out, as no more reference was made to it, but they decided to edit it in at a later date. It's quite clear with the Boxgate in David's game that they always intended to make it to the final edit.
