Are you a DoND fan? Are you tired of embarrassing and unlucky 1p wins? Do you think the 1p should be taken of the DoND UK game board and be replaced by new red amount (£25,000, £150,000, or £175,000, among other possiblities)? Do you think that anyone who won 1p on DoND UK should be brought back to try and win a decent sum of money again? If you've answered yes to any or all of these questions, then why not join the Anti-1p League? I'd be more than happy to make customized signature badges for all of those who are interested. So what are you waiting for? Join the Anti-1p League today!

I'd rather the £100 went in all honesty - everyone who seems to have had it at the table recently seems to have won it or dealt for less!

And I don't think I'd be much happier winning it instead of 1p - I think 1p Nick actually was pleased he swapped the £100 away due to the fame factor! :)

I think the 1p is a great amount! It's what makes DOND unique from other shows. If it was a choice between any amount under £100 I'd probably hope for the 1p just for the 'I've won 1p on DOND factor' it'd make a good anecdote anyway :P

I also cant see how they're embarrassing, most of the 1p winners havent really had much choice on the matter and those that did have just been very unlucky...

Long live the penny!

The 1p should stay. It's what makes it so unique compared to other gameshows - you never go away with nothing on DOND - but to go away with 1p is unique and rather amusing in many circumstances (although perhaps not so amusing in cases like 1p Trevor)...

They should keep the 1p. If you're going to win a blue, then it might as well be the 1p.

Um, I don't think so. I'd prefer the £750, since it's the highest available blue amount. I'd rather win money that I can do something with instead of embarrassing myself on national television. One thing does remain true about DoND, though - everyone who plays wins something. The trouble is, for some players, that something is usually not much, due to their reckless greed, bad luck, overconfidence, or poorly-executed decisions.

Overconfidence, reckless greed and poorly executed decisions don't cause a game to collapse, the bad luck that follows them is what causes the collapse so that is rubbish.

And as for embarrassing yourself on National TV- are you obsessed with this concept or something? Maybe some people just want to have a bit of fun and, Ok, £750 is spendable but it's not a lot really- 1p isn't spendable but at least you'll never be forgotten. Far more embarrassing would be to get all weepy and mopey about winning the 1p like Matty did today than winning it with a big grin on your face. And what if you're in the shoes of people like Sharron who received an insulting offer at the final 2- did she embarrass herself by going for it? No, she didn't.

I all honesty, all the 1p winners have had another blue left with it at the end, or if they've had a red with it, all the offers have been 20% of the red or less.

Fadil had 35k and was offered 7k.
Connell had 10k and was offered 2k.
Sharron had 20k and was offered 3k.
PJ had 75k and was given no offer at all (!)
Adam had 10k and was offered 2k
Shaun had 35k and was offered 7k
Margaret had 20k and was offered 3k.

Notice a pattern? :)

I bet they'd all have been more unhappy if they'd dealt then had the biggest sum in their boxes!

Hmm, I see your point. Most of these people didn't get great offers, which kind of forced them to play on, but getting 1p does sort of promote you to legendary status. Hey, if that's the case, then I'd want to be legendary too. People tend to remember certain contestants for their qualities or their games, but it seems that the people on the 1p bus - they outgrew the caravan - are remembered more than anyone else.

But Heather had 10k & was offered 5,500.

And Heather is who exactly? She certainly ain't a member of the 1p club as far as I'm aware... (In fact, has there ever been a Heather on the show??)

I think Heather McGee won 1c... c\c/\c c... (bugger I don't know how to do the cent symbol) on the USA version. McJimmy7945 is clearly getting a bit confused.

Even if you got rid of the 1p, winning 50p, £1, £5 etc is hardly much better.

The 1p is so much part of the show now that to get rid of wouldn't be right. Plus i'm sure the Banker wouldn't be too happy as in his eyes that 1p is his "£250,000".
