Earlier back I started a thread on the tensest game of all time on DOND. Orry came out as the winner. Now, with all the talk of Matty's game being so depressing, I've decided to start a similar thing with what the most depressing game of all time is. As I did before, if this is popular enough, I'll collect the names from this thread and make a poll.

So as a general discussion, what are some of the most depressing games of all time? Feel free to list as many as you want, but don't get too carried away or it'll make picking one game a very long process!

Right now my thoughts. I think Matty's game is a given. Definitely high up there for me is Kelsie as well. The sheer agony of how close she was to the quarter-mill was really heartbreaking.

Mattys game was depressing in the fact every thing went silent at the end and all i heard was Mattys girlfriend crying!

But tbh, the most depressing game for me has to be Joy's, she was such a lovely and entertaining woman and the when she won £100 was just heartbreaking, but what made it worse was when she started crying at the very end which actually set me off!

So Joy's game! :(

Definately Joy's. You couldn't get worse than that.

Joy's was definately one of the most emotional games i've ever seen. It was just that moment at the end when she started crying that I felt really sorry for her.

She was great through out her game though with all the banter she had with Noel & the Banker. Even joking with Noel at the end about moving in with him, just before the tears.

Also Orry's was quite depressing too.

Clare (£3,000?) was bad, but Joy has to be the worst ever for me. It's the only game I've ever nearly cried over :?

In 2008 so far, the most depressing has to have been Joy's. A few of the 1p games have been pretty depressing. I think the worst 1p game has to have been Trevor's. I thought Matty's was more uncomfortable to watch than depressing. A lot of the depressing games are the ones where the player has horrible luck.

I'll go for one not mentioned yet - Philomena. She just had no chance whatsoever!

The most depressing game I've ever seen has to be £1,500 Clare's (I think that's who you mean CM) and it's the only one, bar possibly Brunhilde's, I've ever really cared about. 1p Sally was pretty damn depressing too but to be honest, nowadays, it's just a gameshow and these people on it mean nothing to me. None of them are dying or starving so it isn't what you could describe as "depressing" in my opinion.

1p Trevor's, Joy's, Madeleine's ("Brave nana"), Ingerlise's, Gloria's, Juliah's, 52p Irene's, 10p Steve's and Matty's shows are all ones which stand out to me as possibly the most depressing when I look at the list.

Gloria's, Juliah's, Irene's and Steve's for the bad luck throughout, and Trevor, Joy, Madeleine, Ingerlise and Matty for how they reacted when it all went wrong.

I know I've listed too many there, so I'll stick to 3 main ones - 1p Trevor, Joy and Matty.

I didn't find Matty's game depressing in the slightest. He reaped exactly what he sowed in my opinion.

What depresses me is how they all seem to think they have some god-given right to leave the show with a great wodge of cash yet turn down substantial offers and then treat us to a tasteless waterworks display when it all goes wrong.

There shouldn't be anybody on the show who isn't happy to go away with 1p, having had a wonderful experience and made lots of friends. Anything extra is a welcome bonus - not life or death.

I agree, even if you are badly off and 'desparately need money' you have to realise it is just a gameshow, Basicasic is right , the show musn't be taken too seriously, everyone gets a cheque at least as a souvenir even if it's 'unspendable'.

That's the best post I've seen.

Orry's game was definitely depressing...
Justin's was slightly depressing, it's one of the very few that left me close to tears.
Also, Badger James during Battle of the Sexes.

I agree with all of those apart from Ingerlise's and Irene's. Irene was lovely and took it really well, so I didn't feel so upset for her. Ingerlise's was just plain annoying. It annoys me when players cry because they deal to soon.

Seeing a little old lady, like Joy, who was just such a legend cry on TV is the worst. It was the way she almost invited the audience to cry for her, but no-one responded. I pitied her so much. Joy without a doubt.

:(

Olga's game has overtaken Joy's in my most depressing game of the year, and probably ever. I'll admit it, I cried.
