I'm going into the audience for the first time on April 11 :D and the woman on the phone mentioned something to my dad when he made the inital phone call (as I'm going with him) about going to a hotel on the day first, I think it was "The Echo" or something along those lines.

This confused me, as I thought you just turned up at the studio  . Can anyone let me know please about what happens when you first arrive in Bristol, just so I'm well prepared :D and I can see if we've completly misunderstood her or not :-D

Thanks!

Yeah, starting times vary, but it should say the arrival time on the correspondence they give you. Usually, you just turn at the studio and wait in a queue for a few minutes, then they check you off on the list, and you stay in this waiting area for a bit before they're ready to call you over to the studio. Then the fun begins!

I reckon they'd only suggest staying at a hotel first if you were coming from a long way away, and logistically couldn't make it to the studios in time unless you stayed over somewhere the night before.

You go to the hotel first and then you are picked up by the coach and taken to the studio you then either watch a show on the t.v from the green room or go in the audience you dont go straight on to a show as soon as you get there ,they let you get the hang of things first. You are allowed to have a friend stay with you in the hotel provided you share a room which endamol pay for, your friend just has to pay for their own evening meal or they can go down to the pub which is cheaper. If you are only going as a member of the audience you go straight to the studio.

That's if you're a contestant, but if you're just going in the audience, you just turn up. Simple as.

Yes if you are going in the audience you just turn up but if you are going with a contestant to sit in all the shows you book in the hotel first.
