In no particular order:-

Be one half of a giggling twins contestant.

Have a vague resemblance to Noel Edmonds.

Live within a twenty mile radius of Bristol.

Is this DOND or Big Brother we're watching every day at 4.15 on Channel 4?

Well even Noel said today that "they're getting desperate". And whilst he might be joking, it must be difficult to continue to choose contestants who will be interesting, as we've seen just about everything now - the crazy old men / women, the good looking young men / women, the stats people (although few of them!), the standard middle-aged men / women, the obviously unpopular players such as Janelle (and even Thanh), the dull players, the loud players, the gamblers, the cautious people and even a transvestitie (Orry).

I'd rather they didn't try to select more "unusual" people which is what they are clearly doing more now. But I'd say they've been doing this to a certain extent for a long while now - I remember thinking about 18 months ago that the contestants seemed to be getting more and more "whacky" and Big Brother like.

Oh and you forgot having a ? shaved into the back of your head as one of the requirements. :p

Having twins on the show isn't original, in this country maybe. Since the French and Italian productions have had twins (both sets being male) on the show in recent years.

I really do think I should apply. They haven't had nearly enough sarcastic young gamblers on there :-D

i do honestly think they are getting desperate, im sorry and no disrespect to the twins but i wont be watching the show much till they go. they seem really nice but its just sam and amanda all over and they were too much. theyre too giggly and got on my nerves today so i wont stand it for another 20 something shows.
i prefered the good old days where the contestants were quiet and they got on with the game and took a chance, unlike now when they are persuaded to deal early buy one of their friends on the wings.
i do think the show is heading for a nose dive, need some big gamblers on there.
Id play till the end and not swap and take whatever was in my box if it was a 1p so be it

Yes it is. While the English version has never seen twins on it. Other versions have. But that doesn't mean. That the English version isn't becoming like Big Brother. ;)

This is because no-one can take a freaking chance at money that isn't even theirs. They needed to liven the show up somehow, and they may be getting there...

Anybody who thinks the 'giggle sisters' are going to be gambling or taking risks are seriously deluded.

I'd take heart if any of these 'unusual' people were more likely to take a risk. All they do is annoy you for 20 odd shows then deal.

The lines etc have been closed for a while now because they have enough applicants for a long while.

I think the US version had a set of twins playing the game once. They played for double the stakes (every amount on the board was doubled), and they ended up winning a little over $200,000. Another game had a pair of sisters playing, and I think they won something like 6 grand. This was another Double Deal game.

You think your version has problems with gimmicks and desperation? Just look at the US version. We've had so many gimmicks already, it has become overkill. It's all being done to generate additional ratings, but don't both the US and UK versions of DoND have strong enough ratings anyway?

I honestly think that players like Gemma, (from Easter, £35k) are just ideal for the show. We need more people with that mentality. However, you still need the odd cautious few, to mix it up a little.

I find it more painful watching someone deal at say £11k then finding out they could have had £75k than watching someone gamble £11k and winning £10
