It seems that some viewers of DOND have found the show to be too smutty recently and have complained to Channel 4 over some of the more risque banter that is broadcast before the watershed.

According to Channel 4, last month saw a number of complaints over DOND about certain comments being aired before the 9PM watershed.

Channel 4 received 52 complaints about the episodes broadcast on 19/3/08 & 20/3/08. Making it the 2nd most complained about C4 show during March. They also received 18 complaints regarding David's game broadcast on 26/3/08. Making that the 10th most complained about programme - Source: www.channel4.com/interact/viewfinder/ch ... index.html

But do you think the show is becoming too smutty or does it not really bother you?

For me I actually find a lot of the more risque banter & innuendos really funny. I have noticed recently that the show seems to have got a bit more risque, but it's never been that offending (if at all) and it's only ever done in a 'jokey' way. Plus, if what they're showing is so offending, then I'd hate to see what they've cut :D.

Channel 4's monthly show, The TV Show, is going to feature a debate over content shown before the watershed about various shows, including DOND, and people's general opinion on the matter. Check out the link www.channel4.com/interact/viewfinder/te ... index.html to find out more. Though i'm not sure who this Noel Edmunds person they speak of is :?.

Some of the things said on DOND have definetly made me think twice and wonder how it was let through before 9pm but that is the real comedy gold... I can see how some things shouldnt be said in front of children though and DOND really is on at the time when most children watch.

I cant understand why you'd complain about a TV show though...

I think some of the things said have been a bit smutty for the time that its broadcast at. Its a prime time for youngish kids to be watching TV and funny though it is for adults it's not appropriate in my eyes.

It also gives the show an air of 'cheapness' which it doesn't deserve.

It can be funny, but at the same time, it could get a bit too much for the youngsters watching. I don't think it's so bad that people should complain about it though. :?

i watch DOND when im in with my 11 year old daughter, and i must admit it does get sluttish abit depending on whos game it is i think. its mainly noel and the banker. if they want it to go down the road of been tacky then i think it should be on after 9pm. btw im no prude, in adults eyes its funny, but kids should be kids and not have to listen to things like that on a family show. its only recently its gotten like this as though theyre trying to boost ratings.

Its much worse in the studio, with no under 18s in the room, and I must say its much funnier too. What does get broadcast just hints at what doesnt. It works well in the studio because it gets the contestants and pilgrims all laughing, helps relax everyone and builds the atmosphere.

Saying that though I dont think its really a good idea to put too much smutty stuff in a show broadcast at 4-15pm. A few comments that leave you needing to 'read between the lines' and that will go over the heads of children are OK with me, but I would prefer nothing thats any more suggestive than that.

The smutty remarks appeal to my sense of humour. It does get a bit near the bone sometimes, but I don't see the problem with it. Kids hear worse on other TV shows.

It's no suprise how Noel is trying to get it on with lady contestants :P

I heard that one of the female contestants was invited by Noel to have dinner, music and a chat and he showed her his Mr Blobby!

When the show began, Noel explained that the show was targeted at an Adult age group, though it was pulling in the younger viewers.

Well April's complaint list is in and DOND is 6th on the list.

Channel 4 received about 50 complaints (I say about 50 as there seems to be a typo on the site and I think they've missed a number off at the end, as the shows in between DOND received 49-53 complaints) about Ronnie's game broadcast on 11-4-08. The following quote was what one viewer had to say to Channel 4 - "Tonight's show was spoiled by the Banker's trick on Ron. He should be recompensed and given the £2,000 he was robbed of.
