Okay, so we all know that DoND UK has been having some unlucky / horrendous games as of late, where people either win a blue, or sell a high red for a fraction of its value. I'm sure many people will agree that this is a trend that should not continue. We've all been praying for a groundbreaking game where someone wins a massive amount of money either through a deal or their own box, but alas, none such game has occurred yet. Thus, I have a solution.

We all know that Geordie Gerry has offered to buy drinks for anyone who deals for £20 or less. So far, at least 3 people have been able to claim this offer, including 2p Igor, 15p Dave, and someone who dealt for 52p. This rather generous offer inspired me to create The Mark77 Challenge.

Here's how the challenge works. If anyone wins an amount of money either through a deal or their own box that is £50,000 or more, I will personally send them $5 Canadian as a reward for their bravery and their big win. Double stakes if someone wins £100,000 or more.

So my questions to all of you are, do you think this is a good idea, and when will I have to send off my first $5 or $10?

One flaw I can see...

If someone won £100,000 I dont think they'd be too fussed about $10 :?

Hmm, perhaps you're right. Perhaps a raise from $5 / $10 to $10 / $20 would work?

The thing is, Geordie offered his "pint of beer if someone dealt £19.99 or below" more as a joke, and it would merely have encouraged people to deal a comedy offer if they got the chance.

People can't control the luck in their games, and if they're targetists, they're going to deal whatever. End of. Offering a few pounds isn't going to encourage people to gamble or make them read the boards better, and it isn't going to help the cause when you're trying to get some banker beatings and high wins... :?

We just need better luck and the board collapses to happen after a player's dealt, and the dream finishes to happen when a player hasn't dealt - and that's down to luck and nothing else I'm afraid.

Its a very tempting offer. Should make all the difference. ;)

Never.

However to make the offer even more tempting I'll chip in a fiver as well. :)

I got a better idea that the producers should try.

How about cash bonuses for beating the banker. Two ideas:

1. Add 10% to the total winnings for each player to get an OPW. 3% for each player getting a TPW, 1% for each TBW, and none for an OBW. FE: A deal for 10,000 becomes 11,000 if it's an OPW, 10,300 if it's a TPW, and 10,100 if its a TBW.

2. Add a flat E1,000 bonus for getting an OPW, a E$250 bonus for a TPW, and a E100 bonus for a TBW, and nothing for an OBW.

From what I understand, they've had ONE OPW out of the last twenty or so games and a LOT of OBWs? This will give them an incentive to play the game correctly and beat the banker.

Will this work? Or, no?

I think with the way some of the people have been playing the game recently, they wouldn't be bothered about banker wins and gaining an extra bit of dosh, they'd just want to be out of there with the offer presented to them so they can go on holiday or whatever.

Also, the show itself never seems to touch on TPWs / TBWs etc... they just talk about "beating the banker" and the "banker winning"... simply based on what the player dealt at and what was in their box.

As of May 7th, 2008, The Mark77 Challenge gets its first winner, Betty. Because Betty won £100,000, she gets $10 from me. Now, where do I send that tenner to :D ? Regardless, congrats to Betty on being the first Mark77 Challenge winner, and being the first person to get a massive powerhouse win in what seems like several years (but actually isn't).

May I suggest the h2005 challenge? Whereby, if a player wins £50k or more, they simply give all their winnings to me. :)
