Without wishing to start a thread that leads into "Well we wouldn't get these if people no dealt more blah blah blah"....

Following £40,040 on Graham's game today (up £10,010 despite £250,000 going?? :ponder: ) What do you think have been the worst lies by the banker after someone has dealt?

I can think of many!!, but the worst ones that spring to mind are:

All 3 in Show 444 Rita's game
£68,000 in Alex's game (and Miguel's)
£66,000 in Steven's game
£71,000 in Toni's game
£41,000 (and to a lesser extent £70,000) in Ronnie's game
£88,000 in Nicola's game (only because Justin's realistic £62,000 came just 48 hours before)

I could name plenty more, but I'll leave it to you...
:D

Kate's proveout offers (£37,500 and £96,000), especially since Justin got £26,000 on a far stronger and more stable board a day later...

Kate! I never mentioned her despite mentioning the other two during £250,000 week.

Mel's £45,000 stands out as being pretty ridiculous as well - £45,000 on a 1p/10p/other blue/£20,000/£250,000.

Terry's £21,000 with only £15,000 and £250,000 on the red side and £25,000 the next round after taking out £15,000.

Either Lisa's £44k a couple of shows after Trevor's £9,900 or Steven's £66,000.

All of Anne-Marie's.
Lisa from March 07 getting an AMO 30k to prevent the OPW.
Mally's 145k (as well as other AMO's from 05)
Arrogant Jeff's 41k and 52k

I think the worst one is surely Steven's £66,000 which was an above-the-mean offer, and it had some pretty strange behaviour from Noel to go with it. :?

Lisa's £44,000 is ridiculous more in the terms of thinking that Trevor was offered £9,900 just a few days before!

Lisa's, yes, definitely. Anne-Marie's, well I said it on Bother's Bar, 'we are now getting hypothetical AMOs at eight-box to deny the eleven-box OPW. I am speechless.' - and I stand by that today.

Today's wasn't even in the top 100 list. It was probably deserved too. These players are already thick and they're getting thicker...

(Extra bonus marks for anyone who spots the song I've quoted twice in that last paragraph.)

A few more I've thought of:

Gus - £67,000 on a £1 / £250 / £35k / £50k / £250k final five

Michaela - £69,000 on a £100 / £5k / £50k / £75k / £250k final five

Lloyd - £30,000 on a 50p / £10 / £500 / £10k / £250k final five despite hitting £100k in the round before

Halloween Week Ben - £15,666 on a 1p / £15k / £20k / £50k final four, £21,666 on a 1p / £15k / £50k final three and £30,666 on a £15k / £50k final two.

Joyce's 55K annoyed me a bit.

Alex's £68k lie almost had me switch off DOND for good. The worrying thing was the others actually believed it.

Kate's offer going up drastically despite knocking out every fallback was almost as bad.

I actually understand why he offered it; to convince her £250,000 was in her box!

Would anyone have actually believed that and gone for it though?! Surely with 95% of players he'd have ended up buying a 10p box for £120k so I don't think his tactic was too valid.

Nonetheless, today's proveout offer was definitely inflated at face value.

At face value, yes.
At game value, no.

Toni last year with the £71,000 proveout offer of two blues, then £50,000 £75,000 and £250,000. Sure the board was strong but you'd NEVER get that high an offer!

I'd even include Richard's £75,000 offer - you'd have got what, £60,000 at most?

120k today without shadow of a doubt. Even if the banker wanted the player to think they had the 250k, nobody with half a brain would risk 120k to find out! (Even Sr Wilson said he'd have dealt that!!! :D )

Today's was the worst proveout offer I've heard in a long time. In active play, I think it would have been £75k at the very most.
