Season 4 is not having a good start at all, all the bad luck from Season 3 is still there :(

There has to be a sign, surely? :?

Oh my god, cant you just be patient, it is a game of luck and chance, we cant expect that we will never get a run of bad luck, the show is going through that now and like in the past it changes. Who knows, maybe tomorrow there can be a £250,000 win (you never know lol).

There are runs of good luck and there are runs of bad luck. We just have to be patient and wait for the bad luck to end! And it can easily have ended today and tomorrow theres a good chance of a high amount being won!

The bad luck will end, but goodness knows when... and whether it leads to big wins or not is also another matter (the last period of good luck, at the start of July, didn't).

The run of bad luck = 4 shows. Patience is a virtue, oh dear one...

I am paitent but watching a show where there is constantly bad luck that has been running for nearly a year (apart from Betty's game) does tend to get on your nerves :?

It is a bit depressing tuning in to find that a player has demolished most of their power 5. I only tune in, in the hope that the bad luck will end!

Whilst I'm praying that the bad luck ends soon we know that the good luck (when it comes) will only be squandered by the grab-it-and-run contestants that seem to have swamped (and wrecked) the show this last 9 months or so.

Hopefully it'll end soon. Surely if the bad luck can turn up like buses in a row, the good luck can do the same? In fact we know it can! Look at Jan 07...

Its a no win because after these train wrecks its going to go into a phase of early dealing or dealing derisory offers despite big ones remaining coz they desperate for a bit of money, and then we have to endure the prove out and see the 250k in their box or 100k etc in other words a big power 5.
Then finally after a period of this someone will have a go but it will end as a train wreck and the cycle repeats.
Pre Betty we had all of this and then Betty tried to being back positvity with her 100k win and then Richard killed it all with his pathetic display and since him its just got worse and worse with the quick cop outs.

SrWilson have you studied psychology? Only asking cause you are generalising about a lot of people you haven't met. (I don't mean that rude by the way)
Everybody handles someone else's game differently. What can invoke fear in one, may inspire someone to gamble further than they would normally.
I did see some train wreck games and some early dealers. It's a lot easier to say what you would do when it's someone else's game and someone else's money. Believe me, people's attitudes change when they get in the chair.

I hope there's not too many more trainwrecks to come, and early deals don't sound too promising either. Imagine if someone dealt at the first or second offer. This forum would go into meltdown!

It would be worth it just for Basicalc's dismantling of the hapless contestant.

I agree with dougal18. I may not agree with what basicasic has to say, but I laugh myself silly at the way he says it. Full marks to him for that.

The way contestants react to previous games is part of what makes this type of DoND (as opposed to versions like the Dutch and US versions where contestants play the game in isolation if you like) stand out. I think if contestants acted 'rationally' in accordance with how they valued money personally, you'd see most games end at 5-box, with the rest split neatly enough between earlier deals (probably moreso now than a year or two ago because of economic conditions changing) and going to at least two-box either because they get unavoidable trainwrecks or because they do feel able to risk it all for the big money like SrWilson obviously does.

In practice, you'll get changes in the game, the atmosphere in the hotel, the way Noel acts, the utterly unpredictable Banker, etc etc etc. all causing players to act in ways that rationally they wouldn't. That in turn adds to the drama of the show in that the contestant is always thinking that they could - perhaps should - have taken the other option, but for whatever reason didn't.
