Not sure when this is happening but Travis (aka Bother's Bar) has told me it will be shifting to Sundays once again sometime in the autumn.

I'd assume this is to avoid the Saturday night ratings war, but I'm very intrigued as the recording I went to see, Noel mentioned "Saturday's show" - so looks like there will be some editing involved.

I haven't been on Bother's Bar in my life so if someone can confirm this for me - not that I don't trust Travis mind, seeing as he does know a fair lot more than most of us do! :P

I wish they'd have put it on Sundays right from the very start. It started off on Saturdays, shifted to Sundays in late 2006 and then shifted back again to Saturdays late last year. I think it's better on a Sunday though, so hopefully this news is correct.

Yeah, I kinda agree. Seems better for it to be on a Sunday rather than Saturday.

I wish they'd make up their mind, this is getting silly now!

Saturdays were perfect when they were one-hour spectaculars like Sam, Marcus, Jim R and Morris, but when they're unremarkable games buried at 4pm it seems a bit silly, so Sundays probably are more suitable.

I wish they would drop the weekend show

They have never been able to find a regular slot for it, as well as shifting it between the Saturdays and Sundays they are constantly changing the start times.

Obviously it still draws in a good set of viewing figures over the weekend and it will be something that C4 won't want to lose if they don't have a similarly popular programme to fill it's gap.

One of my friends has had her show changed from the 27th to 28th September, but I don't know about the others before that.

So that is the latest it will change...all I heard was that it will happen "sometime in the autumn."

It was a right pain when I used to commentate the weekend shows (no surprise our rota means I no longer do those ones! ). In fact one Saturday I had it on BBC 1 by mistake but as they were showing racing I thought I had the TV on C4!! I wondered why DOND was running late until I realised I had it on the wrong channel and quickly flicked over to C4 to find Noel introducing today's player and I quickly had to set the thread up and add what Noel said at the start in later.

Judging from what Wendy's said here then I suspect they may be changing it from Saturday to Sunday straight away at the start of Season 4 then, as I doubt they'd do a few Saturday shows and then suddenly switch. Looks like we'll have more dodgy editing then where Noel says "Welcome to Saturday's show" and suddenly the camera cuts away and "Welcome to Sunday's show" is dubbed over it for a while then...

This thread was in the spoilers section, but I've moved it to here now as I've just checked the RadioTimes website and saw this:

Sunday 31 August 4:55pm Channel 4

So it looks like DOND is indeed immediately moving to Sundays. :ponder:

I notice there are also about 4 repeats on More4 each day from next week... one early morning, one early afternoon, one early evening and sometimes one in the early hours of the morning.

But hasn't it always been like that: 9am, 1.15pm, 6pm and then about 1am?

Maybe it has... I don't have More4 so have never bothered with it but I noticed it when I searched for DOND on the RT site. What do they actually show then? I assume 2 of them are repeats from earlier in the day and the other 2 are repeats from a few weeks ago? Or are all 4 episodes each day the same one?

The first 2 shows of the day are repeats from like 2 months ago (todays was Don who won £21,000) and the last 2 shows of the day are usually that days 'new' show repeated!

There must be tons of awkward editing to be done, I saw shows being recorded that are due to be televised in November during which Noel referred to 'Saturdays game'. The show I started a thread about in the spoilers section was due to go out on a Saturday.

I think all Noel's shirts are kept on standby in case they need to be put back on for editing purposes, and I suppose he cant really change his hairstyle (or beard length) much for the same reason.

Like the fact they're back on Sundays, but I didn't mind it being on either Saturday or Sunday :eyes:

I don't mind really mind either way, but I don't really understand why they've decided to move it all of a sudden (again). The Saturday/Sunday show has always been the 'odd one out' of DOND and it's constantly the lowest performing episode each week.

Maybe they're moving it to avoid clashing with the BBC's sports highlights, there isn't much else on at that time on the other channels as far as i'm aware to clash with DOND. Having just looked at the RadioTimes website though I find it interesting that the BBC have also scheduled a new Weakest Link special on Sunday night at 5:05pm going against DOND. With the grand final of Last Choir Standing, just before that, starting at 3:40pm - 5:05pm, 10 minutes into DOND (though from what i've heard LCS hasn't done too well in the ratings). I'm not quite sure how the ratings compare for both DOND and TWL, but i'm guessing TWL is more competion to DOND than what is usually on a Saturday.

I wish they'd scrap the weekend show, but I did prefer it on a Sunday, rather than a Saturday. I hope they keep it to a regular time, too.

It seems that most people prefer it on Sundays to Saturdays. I certainly do so I'm glad it is moving to Sundays again. I think it was OK to have it on Saturdays in the early days, it's hard to forget shows like Sam and Morris for example, but now that its popularity has waned somewhat, then Channel 4 are smart to move it to Sundays to avoid it clashing with the likes of X-Factor.

Other than Gladiators, Sunday TV is often really poor, so I'm happy it's back on a Sunday, and viewing figures maybe higher as there's much weaker competition on a Sunday than a Saturday.
