Based upon every show you've seen, what would you have done the most? Deal at 11 box, 8 box, 5 box, 2 box, or played until the end to win what's in your box or take the swap?

Statistically, what would you be most likely to do?

Are you naturally cautious, a gambler, or somewhere in between?

5 box for me I think... You can normally get a fairly decent offer at that stage before things go wrong.

5-box is usually the best stage to get a good payout, especially if you manage to keep the £100,000 and £250,000 in play...even nowadays you still get at least £25,000 for that configuration!

My most common Deal point will always depend on the prevailing offer pattern, but I think historically my most common exit point is five-box and I'd generally argue that's the 'moderate' gameplay approach when offers are moderate. At present, 'moderate' players are going to be going to two-box or even Wakeying it, while two winters ago 'moderate' players would probably have been advised to take every other third offer...

Without being able to check through every game, 5-box seems to have been the typical time for me to go on average, though I was usually dealing earlier in early 07 and playing to 2-box or the end more this year given the offers. :)

Recently, it's either been deal at 2 box or all the way to the end. In the past, I'd most often have dealt at 5 box and sometimes at 8 box. There have been occasions that I've been thinking deal at 11 box, but very rarely.

There was a thread somewhere ages ago which detailed the stats for the best time to deal based on offer generosity (I think rico did it actually) and 5-box turned out to be the optimal time to deal. I suspect that graph would've swung more towards 11-box in early 2007, and more towards 2-box (or even no deal at all!) in recent months!

That's probably true. Even 2006 had many high 3rd round offers that would have been OPW's if contestants had dealt, but 2 box has become more attractive since the banker started specifying more conditional 2 box offers at the 5 box stage to reward the gamble (such as yesterday's show with Ada) rather than keeping them low in live play to entice the contestant to go to the end.

I'd say a deal around 5-box is what I'd mostly have done. Although given some offers, it would perhaps be more 2-box (e.g. with Ada).

Mines more 2-box really, but recently is more like all the way.

Ok looking back over what I'd have done since Doug's game last Monday, it was nearly always a deal at 2-box. Except for Charlie and Claude's games (£20,000 and deal at £6,500 at 5-box.)

But perhaps thats because of poor offers...
