I have to say, there have been many times when watching the final outcome of some games I have got choked up to the extent of having tears in my eyes!

Now, I do enjoy watching some of the other game shows, but they pale into insignificance when it comes to relating to the contestants, and the emotion that player conveys and what it brings to the show.

Noel is so brilliant with them as well, sometimes it really feels as if I'm there with them!

Does anyone else get emotional watching, or is it just me being a big softie?

Occasionally. It depends on what mood I'm in and how much I like the player.

No, I don't. I almost once at Joy's game, though...

To be honest, I have to admit that some games really do get to me.

Joy's, Claude's and James's (Battle of Sexes) games left me feeling a bit down.

Remember Ron? I think he was on W1 but I can't remember when it was.

Anyway, he had some story about his daughter in America and something terrible had happened to her but he and his wife couldn't afford to go over to her. He won a decent amount from his box and he got a standing ovation from the pilgrims.

Even though my recollection of the details is sketchy, I remember that show making me cry.

Sure, you can come up with just the right paragraph that would exactly and candidly reflect the precise emotional descriptors you wished to be utilized in communicating your ever present and meticulously cultivated thoughts. Or you can just swear.

Occasionally. As mentioned Joy's was particularly painful to watch at the end when she suddenly burst into tears. If there was a time for the Banker to phone up and offer an extra gift, that was when he should have.

On a whole though I get emotive in different ways depending on the player/situation/game. Sometimes I feel relieved when a player gets a good result and i'm happy for them, sometimes I couldn't really care what they win and on rare occasions I don't mind seeing some players ending up with a blue.

Joy's game was really bad. It was the way she just brokedown at the end. I used to try to avoid watching her game regarding repeats. Other games like £75,000 Lynne too, but for all the right reasons though.

Games like Brunhilde's were quite bad.

The end of Rhys's game left me with a bit of a lump in my throat...

It all depends upon how much you want the contestant to win.

The more we get to know about the contestant
the more opportunity we have to get emotional about the outcome.

There have been shows where contestants have wanted money for specific medical/disability related needs
and those have got to me especially when the result hasn't worked out.

Some shows with more stable boards and average deals have less tension but
the shows where contestants go to the end with an all or nothing result are usually far more emotional.

The Christmas star contestants were so deserving of a big win that all of those were emotive,
and when games are personalised such as today's when Harry wanted to go to see his family abroad
and no dealt at 5 box with 3 blues and 100K and 250K, are much more likely to draw you in more.

I watched Mary's game 3 times on Monday (4+1, More4 and on PVR when OH got home!) and I was choked up every time.

Now Ty/Derek is on there, I am whooping like a loon every time the camera goes near her. It is sooooooo weird seeing one of the family on TV every night 8)
