Why do so many people - usually blokes - yell out, "Come on!" or "Get in!"

It annoys the arse off me!

I take it you are female then....

Prepare to have the arse annoyed off you. Me, Alfonso and Jimmy are all football fans and thats all we shout. It's not imaginative, but when you're in the moment........

I'm not a big fan of people saying they have a "feeling" about a box. I can' understand that at all.

It's a game purely based on luck...but that doesn't stop every single person in the studio giving off waves of positivity to make the game as enjoyable as possible!

It's a feeling I can't explain in words, you'll have to go to the studio and watch a show to see it for yourself!

I often use 'Come on!' to generate positivity within myself, and 'Get in!' when I get a result. I can understand hoe it can be annoying to some people, but i find it a spontaneous reaction!

surely it doesnt matter what people say or shout?! id much rather have everyone shouting in my game, and seeing them shout and be behind the player on the tv, whatever they say! rather than just stand there and say nothing!!!

The "Get in!" chants are seen here on our forum regularly. As the forum's lone Canadian member, I have no idea what it means.

Thank you, Clare. Finally, the mystery is revealed - well, for me at least ;) .

What I find amusing (even though this is meant to be about annoying things) is when an audience member claps after a player has dealt and they find a blue and Noel shouts "who clapped!?" and turns around to look as if it's a crime to clap.

Same here. The best one for that was Alicia's game in 2007; "WHO CLAPPED??? THE NEXT PERSON TO CLAP AT THE NEXT BLUE, I'M THROWING THEM OUT!!!" :-D

I was in the audience for one of the Christmas Star shows in 2007...he had just found the £250,000 and the whole studio went silent after Noel drilled the "you are not going to be our next quarter-millionaire" speech...and I don't know why I did it, but I suddenly yelled out "BIG TWO STILL THERE - COME ON!!!" (he still had £75,000 and £100,000)

Anyway I was really worried that I'd have had them cease recording and I get a tap across the knees for speaking out of place or something silly like that - but instead the whole audience roared with encouragement to what I said! :D

That was my first time in the audience too...wow!

Yes!

Noel said his speech, it cut to a sad shot of the player, then suddenly I heard a lone voice yell something out and the audience suddenly roaring - I didn't realise straightaway who it was until I put two and two together! :-D

Don't be confused. He only wants players to plough on with zero consideration of the offers, like Ann today. Although I'm delighted he changed his tack when someone actually played his version of the game... (Note also Clare-Louise's reply!)

Bedtime for me anyways, lovely chatting as usual! Nighty-night!

Well, I think positivity, shouting and whatnot are all great. Of course you need them.

But, it's just the repetition of the "come on" thing that gets on my nerves. It's become a totally annoying cliche. Can't they find something else to say?
