As I briefly announced in today's show thread, I've decided to put the red box seal I won (from the Guess the Box Amount Competition from the 12th March) up for grabs in a Deal or No Deal 1,000 Shows Forum Quiz!

Deal or No Deal reaches a huge milestone on the 1st of April, as the show reaches its 1,000th edition! The show will surely be celebrating such an event as it is, so why can't we? :D

Fellow forum members are more than welcome to help *is looking at people like James and Simon more specifically here! :P * and as already mentioned, the winner will win one of the red box seals that are currently being given away in the Guess the Amount Contestant Special Competition.

Any ideas/suggestions/opinions, you all know where to find me! :smt023 We have an hour short of 2 weeks to come up with this! :D

you could put up a temporary list of 20 past players and the amouts they won and we have to remember them. then theres a quiz and the quickest answerer with all the questions right wins. you wont know how well u did until after the prize has been announced so you cant retake the test.

Just an idea XD

Or you could put up a clip of a memorable game and we'd have to answer questions on it.

What I normally get people to test me on is they say a date and I say the name of the player and the amount they won (and if you want to push it further, what their highest offer was, and what was in their box!) :)

I'm liking that idea more!

If it's going to be quick-fire, a Live multi-convo might be the only way to carry out this event! But there's still plenty of time yet! Could be like A Question of Sport and have so many different types of tests!

How about " What will the banker offer?" from real games (given the board and possibly previous offers)
That has the advantage of being a test of skill rather than memory.

The trouble with anything based on facts is that the stats on this site are so good you could find all answers given time and persistance. :blueponder

Perhaps have different categories of questions. Like guess the player, guess the offer, who said this quote, general knowledge etc...

Yes Mike, after James suggested that I thought I definitely want it to be like A Question of Sport.

So for now, especially seeing as H is an admin, therefore can't win any prize up for grabs on here :P if he could provide a few good snaps from shows (similar to what he does for the annual forum Advent Calendar), then that's out First Round!

Then another round could be a What Happens Next?-esque thing! :D

What sort of scoring system are you going to use? The old pub quiz style on here (and the system I was thinking of using in my brand new Pub Quiz ) is the first right answer gets 5 points, the second gets 3, third gets 2 and fourth gets 1 point with everyone else getting nothing for being too slow or are you going to go with the traditional scoring system of the person with the most right answers wins and revealing the answers at the end? If you go with the first system we could incorporate the two quizzes (if mine gets up and running (here by the way)).

Sounds fair! Yeah the traditional scoring sounds best as it gives everyone who participates a good chance!

And well done for the sneaky advertising sdgthju
