With Deal or No Deal on our screens for four years, and more than 1,000 shows, the show has lasted a long time, in a testament that Endemol got the format right for this country. Even so, keeping fresh can be a problem, which happened to 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?', changing in format in many countries, including this one after 9 years.

While it might be a bit early to change the format of the show, the Deal team would probably like to know what we want to see from Deal in the future. They can only find out by receiving feedback, or ESP signals. :P

One thing I would like to see in Deal are more people with large and slightly zany personalities, along with a few more gamblers and statisticians, the latter being absent for a good 6 months on our screens. People with interesting backgrounds are great, coming from different walks of life, but there needs to be a diversity in personality as well, to keep things interesting, and to keep Noel on his toes!

What would you like to see? :ponder:

In terms of gameplay, I think it'd be interesting if they made the "offer after every" box twist a more permanent feature. They seem to be using it quite often at the moment, normally in games where it's a one-box game at 5-box; so perhaps they could have a rule that says if the player gets to 5-box with ONE of the Power 5 remaining, then they'll get an offer after every box from then on. I don't think things like the banker's gamble should be guaranteed though, as it could affect people's decisions too much when they dealt if they knew there was a definite possibility of getting the BG.

In terms of characters and the show itself, I don't think there's much that needs changing - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! The balance of lively / quiet characters is about right at the moment, although it's inevitable that there'll be some phases where the contestants are mostly quite quiet and vice versa.

I wouldn't tinker very much with the format other than to increase the prize money for the weekend show and use the one box offers more frequently as David has said.

In the shows we're the box amounts were doubled does anyone remember if Noel referred to "half a million pounds" in
the intro?

I don't think he did, as I think they only said the amounts would be doubled after the show began.

I'd like to see a member of the Endemol staff employed to tell Noel in his earpiece when he claims an event has never happened before when it blatantly has.

I don't think he did, as I think they only said the amounts would be doubled after the show began.

I think he introduced one of the £500,000 games in Christmas 2006 that way. There's only been one double-money game per se, the second birthday show; the other three £500,000 games (two for Christmas 2006 and the 500th show) saw £15,000 replaced by the half-million.

And none of them saw the £500,000 make it to eight-box!

Personal thoughts: make 5-3-3-3-3-1-1-1 a permanent structure; stop with the gimmickry and gamble-inducing intervention (the permanent use of four- and three-box offers should push more players deep into the game anyway, it certainly has historically); what Simon said; more statisticians as crazyeddie said.

A second-round deal just to see the reaction if nothing else! Well why not, there's never been one!

A first or second offer deal would be interesting. I wonder if they'd do some kind of gamble later on in the game if the player dealt that early. I'm quite surprised a second offer deal hasn't happened already, to be honest. The show's been going for over 4 years now, I'm surprised that every single player has reached the third offer.

I'm happy with the game format as it is, it's good to have the odd offer-after-every-box and bankers-gamble thrown in from time to time for good measure. The standard pick 1 from 3 thing and the slight variations used on special occasions (xmas, halloween, etc.) has become a bit boring, I wish they could think of something else.

One thing I would love to see is a post-watershed 'DOND uncut' type show with out-takes and other funny stuff. Any contestants or pilgrims who have been in the studio know that tons of hilarious stuff, much of it x-rated, ends up cut from the televised show.

After reading the comments above, thinking about the offer after every box at 5-box, I would like to see it when the £250,000 is at 5-box. To begin with, I think the producers should assert it's at the banker's discretion, like the swap, then introduce it as a permanent feature.

Think there would be too many offers in a regular game, though a 5-3-2 system mentioned on Bother's Bar could work.
