I've been thinking about how I'd play the game if I revealed the Trick twist at 5 box and the banker got to look in my box.

I think the best thing to do is completely disregard anything the banker has to say and just consider the offer in relation to the board, as you would do in a normal game.

There's no way of telling if the banker is lying or not so it's impossible to second guess him. If he gives a high offer, he might be doing so because you've got a high value in your box and therefore wants you out of the game so you don't go all the way and win it. But then again, he might be double bluffing you and he's trying to entice you to go on when you've really only got a blue. There's no way of knowing.

Therefore, the best course of action if you get the Trick twist is view the game from then on as a normal game and not get drawn into the banker's mind games.

Anyone agree or would others try to figure out if the banker is lying or telling the truth?

Agreed.

I agree too. My advice would be to listen to what the banker says but make up your own mind. I would also say dont ask the wings for advice - their interpretations of whether the banker is lying or not would really add to my confusion.

Agreed as well. However seeing everyone trying to work out whether the banker is lying or not makes good TV, so I wouldn't reveal that I was taking this attitude! If the banker knew, he may get angry that I was essentially ignoring the twist, and could phone back and reduce the offer to 1p or something out of spite!

The best way to handle it is how Lillian did yesterday - take on board what the banker said, but essentially consider the offer and the board and in the end, play the game as normal and ignore the games the banker is playing.

I would just do whatever it takes to get The Banker to call his bluff, simple

I'd quote the study by Bombardini and Trebbi (2005) into the Italian version where the Banker always knows where the money is, and in particular their conclusion that the Banker's best strategy under such rules is to act as though he doesn't.

Granted, this is more to enhance my geek credentials on national television than to help my gameplay...

Just to remind you how relatively recent this twist is:

Andersen et al., writing at the end of 2006, wrote:
Things become much more complex in those versions in which the bank offer in any round
is statistically informative about the prize in the contestant’s case. In that case the contestant has to
make some correction for this possibility, and also consider the strategic behavior of the banker’s
offer. Bombardini and Trebbi [2005] offer clear evidence that this occurs in the Italian version of the
show, but there is no evidence that it occurs in the UK version.

(I doubt more than two people on here will care about the link - even I don't understand a lot of it!)
