Makes a change from zombies last year!

A few of the newbies from this week are probably going to be playing their games around then.

The Halloween costumes and so on have been quite light-hearted and relatively modest in previous years, but they actually seem quite creepy this year. It looks like it's something out of the London Dungeons, with everyone dressed as ghosts, the set looking like a dungeon and something to do with ghosts of the banker's dead relatives for the trick / treat twist.

The contestants almost look unrecognisable too (which was what happened with the make-up during Banker's Birthday Week). I'm glad I didn't play my game dressed as a clown or looking like I've been dead for 300 years or whatever. Once again though, the make-up, wardrobe and set design teams seem to have done a great job; even though most of the children audience will probably be too scared by it all to watch!

Let's hope none of the Halloween contestants talk about dead relatives when they play their game too...

Talk about overdoing it!!! I'm not against special shows at all but making the contestants looks totally unrecognisable is just stupid.

Thanks for that Greeny you will all love the Halloween shows, I can't tell you much of course but I said at the time the set, make up and costumes were fantastic :D

My friend and I sat next to the fireplace in the first show we saw and when we walked into the audience room on Monday there it was :eyes:

They seem to have excelled themselves this year with the set design and the costumes, it actually looks genuinely quite scary this year.

They should go all out and make it actually scary. Few examples:

Change the music
Add some sort of rusty hinge noise to the boxes
No cheering allowed from the audience, but screams etc when a big value goes
Change the lighting to be dark
Add a grainy effect to the final transmission

Would be so cool :)

They should just do a normal episode, with a sweet old lady drinking tea and having a nice, cosy game, and then halfway through just SUDDENLY cut to this really scary devil shouting "I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL! I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL!!!" interspersed with shots of bloodied corpses to the sound of ear-piercing screams.

And then cut back to the show as if nothing happened.

But we haven't seen them in their normal get-up yet! Don't we have to compare them to that before we can say how unrecognisable they are?

Ah, the memories of Shell, who'd done nearly 30 shows before she was picked during the birthday week, yet if you'd missed the intro you wouldn't have a clue who was playing!!

Thank you for the link, Greeny. Am looking forward to the Hallowe'en specials. Although I think maybe a touch TOO much make up. I can hardly recognise the current crop of players. + 6 more newbies to arrive before the Hallowe'en specials begin a week next Monday is it? But I admit, and agree with Greeny also that they have excelled this year with the special effects.

Just hope that it will be the banker with the blood curdling screams during that week. This past week alone, apart from Kate (my ears haven't recovered yet by the way! ;) ) has been somewhat disappointing. Another 1p club member and Marie yesterday who could have been the 24th member.

Phil.

Well I've just caught the advert on channel 4, and it really intrigues me. I'm really looking forward to it this year.
