Absolutely had enough of it. It has been over 4 years since the show started yet the audience still forgets when a player has dealt and clap at blues in a proveout. :x. How come they don't know what a deal is yet or how do they forget?

Anyone else at the end of their tether now?

It is annoying when people still don't get it, after all this time, however Noel's "WHO CLAPPED" is quite entertaining in it's own way :)

If I was a pilgrim, I'd do it deliberately to wind Noel up. :-)

I think everyone is encouraged to clap so much, that people forget when they should/shouldn't be clapping and just clap anyway! Also, I think it only takes one person to clap and then everyone else joins in.

When the £1,000 was revealed in the proveout of Ian's game (17th Mar '09), Dirk started clapping wildly (for reasons known only to Dirk!!) and everyone joined in!! Noel got a bit irritated and said people shouldn't have been clapping. I think this was before he started yelling "WHO CLAPPED" as otherwise Dirk probably would've got an earful of that.

I could go into more detail, but I'd probably be breaking my contract if I did! ;-)

Let's just say Dirk did it again after the show had finished!

When I was there the other week, I almost clapped in the wrong places a couple of times.

One time I went, nearly everyone (except me and more 'seasoned' pilgrims obviously :P ) decided it would be a good idea to clap along to the theme tune, which was a complete waste of energy as it'd all be edited out!

(In fact, a member of the audience team told everyone off for it back in the holding area! )

The clap is of course good for giving the player support and diffusing a tense atmosphere, and the "WHO CLAPPED!" from Noel can lighten the mood of a proveout at least for a few moments. I've also heard "feel free to follow the game any time you want".
