It has happened a couple of times, when the players said they would swap their box when the two boxes left are the £250,000 and another amount, i think nicola was one and someone else, but that was in the proveout round.

Do you think someone will actually have the courage to swap their box in active play with the £250,000 or would anyone here swap their box. IMO i dont think no one would do that, it is easier saying they would in the proveout rounds but in active play i think most of them would bottle it.

Personnally me, i would never swap, as if it did go wrong i would be kicking myself.

Well if i got to that stage i would swap for box 7 (if i already didnt have it) because 7 is my lucky number so i would swap for it whatever the amounts on the board are.

I'd never swap anyway so it wouldn't be an issue for me. I think people would be more wary of swapping if £250k was in the final 2, for fear of giving it away. But if they're determined to go for it (such as Orry and the £100k) then they probably will swap.

My philosophy is to have an eye on the swap with a view to seeing a box on the wings as 'your own' anyway. So yes, I would swap.

It'd take some pretty stingy offers to get me into this active play situation anyway though.

The only situation I would ever swap was if I left box 11 to the end (unless that was my box on the table, in which case I clearly wouldn't swap).

I wouldn't swap. Even though there's a couple of numbers i'd keep to the end I don't know if i'd be able to swap what's on the table to another box and then have that thought I gave it away. However, if I didn't swap and my box on the table didn't contain £250,000 i'd always have that doubt of why didn't I swap for the other box which I purposely kept to the end.

But ultimately I think the thought of giving it away would persuade me not to swap in the end.

I'm about 98% certain that I wouldn't swap in fear of giving it away, which would be much worse than not swaping and having it in my box all along, however if I didn't swap and it was in the other box about 2% of me would be thinking "Damn why didn't I swap, the opportunity was there and I blew it".

But I'm saying that sat infront of a computer, it could be alot different if I was on the show playing for real.

If the £250k was still in play I don't know what I'd do. Part of me would want to swap for box 5, which I'd leave to the end. The other part would be terrified of giving it away.

If Box 12 was left to the end and £250,000 was on the board, I, quite honestly have NO IDEA what I'd do. I guess it will come down to seeing if I got any feelings or not. (Or ask my dad... he's played 2 dond board games and each time he has chosen the £250,000 box to be his)

If the £250,000 was still in play at 2-box, then it is most likely I'd have dealt before getting to that point. Saying that, had the £250,000 stayed in the game today, I would have reached 2-box.

But even then I wouldn't swap because I would never swap. That plus I would probably deal the offer that was given at this point.

I don't really have any lucky numbers as such, I'd probably play the way Geordie did, the only thing that I'd have to decide before hand is which way along the wings I'd go - it would depend if there was someone like Brian in E11! :D

So I wouldn't swap as the last box left would probably be an irrelevant number to me, but it's highly unlikely I'd no-deal on a 250k/something else last pair anyway unless the offer was insulting or there was something very large backing it up.

What about if you had had the £250,000 in your box the day before? Would that make you more likely to swap as you might reason you were not likely to have it two days running, (a bit like Michele did yesterday with the £50,000), even though 'the boxed don't have memories'.

Yes!!!

I'm going to go ahead and share a secret with you all. If there's one thing that I cannot stand on the show, and I'm sure a few others can relate to me with this...it's when a player has just has the £250,000 the previous show and is then picked to play! It's even more annoying when the player appears to possibly be a gambler, as it gives off a very faint impression the production team are trying to avoid a jackpot win with that particular player.

Unless of course they have it again, or they are incredibly gifted as to keep it out from the other 20 boxes picked during the game!

But of course, it is a totally random game.

Everyone who knows me on here, knows if I went and played the game I'd keep a particular number to the end, along with a few others that mean something to a few other people (they know who they are as I've already told them! :P )

Has it ever happened that some one had it in their box on the wings, then played the next day and had it again?

Exactly, the boxes don't have a memory. It's equivalent to standing at a roulette wheel and purposely not betting on the previous number because you thought it wouldn't come up in 2 consecutive spins.

Quite weird that this thread was bumped on the day someone did indeed swap away the £250,000...

£29k Kelsie did.

Personally, I would never swap, especially if there was a large difference between the two boxes. Let's say that I had £35,000 and £10 in the final two. If I didn't swap and had £10, I'd be a bit upset, but afterwards I'd think, 'Oh well, I guess luck wasn't on my side.' But if I did swap and ended up swapping away the £35,000, I'd be thinking, 'Oh my god! The big money was on the table the whole time and I just gave it away!'

To give an example from an actual episode, Swappy Barbara's swap from £100k to £1k was much more painful than her not swapping and winning £1k could've been.

This. I would be kicking myself much harder if I gave away the big one for the small one rather than if I didn't swap and had the small one. I would never swap.
