I am a postgraduate student at the City University of London and I am carrying on a study on “Deal or Deal” for my Dissertation. My master course is MSc Research Methods and Psychology and with this work I would like to examine the behaviour of people during decisions at risk. My aim is to understand the happiness among the contestants of the game “Deal or not Deal” and how the comparison between each other can influence the feelings of happiness or regret.

Therefore, I would need to collect data and the only way I can do it is with your help and collaboration.

The contestants who are interested will just need to answer some questions on a web site and this will take only few minutes.

Although I am not a contestant, I just wanted to say I find this fascinating! A focus on how other contestants' reactions and emotions can be influential is an approach that could bring very interesting findings.

I would recommend you get in touch with DanJudge; he has spoken before about one episode just before his wing appearances began, which he hinted had a significant impact on following players. If you can find anyone who played in January 2007, after the first jackpot win - a period followed by a long sustained period of risky play - this would probably also be valuable.

Have you considered how the emotions and comments of people other than contestants, such as Noel and the audience, may also be influential?

Another good era to try would be after Corinne's game in December when players were afraid to take risks. The best way to contact contestants is to search for them on Facebook.

Thank you guys! so much..indeed it's a very interesting topic with many points to discover..although is a simple game which in some way only requires luck it is full of meanings..and can provide many explanations of the human behavior..

I truly never thought to look at it from that point of view though..for sure also the comments and the emotions of the audience play an important role on the contestant decisions..mmm I will try to consider it..
