*sigh*

Another contentious player decision, another score-settling poll as a result... :eyes: :eyes: ;)

So, just how cautious do you think Laura's £18k deal was?

I still say that with the £100k, £50k and £20k all still there, plus two pretty good fallback amounts of £15k and £10k, and only two blues - one of which was the £500 - it was a very cautious deal, and it was very worth going on one more round at least. :eyes:

Yes, Deal-Eye would have taken that £18k too - but even so... :eyes: :eyes:

And if she had lost the £100k in the next round instead of having it in her box, it wouldn't have been the end of the world at all. :eyes: :eyes:

The Banker would have gone down quite a bit, no doubt about that, but the offer would almost certainly have still been in the thousands - and don't forget that she said something along the lines of "I just don't want to go home with a blue..." :eyes: :eyes: ;)

7 days to vote.

Well, it certainly wasn't the worst deal I've seen, so 'slightly cautious' for me.

You'd say the same if someone dealt £120k on a £250k/1p finish and had the biggie in their box though.

I put slightly cautious - even though it wasn't going to crash to a blue or honourary blue value in a round, the chances were the offer wouldn't go up as an average round was one biggie and a mid-red back-up going, and I can't see how tha bnker could offer much more than £18k at 5-box but only one box significantly higher.

I think it depends how you look at it, so I put slightly.

I've said fairly cautious. It's not a board where you are going to get a lot more money unless you either take both blues out in the next round (about an 11% chance) or have a 2-box containg at least one of the top 2 amounts.

I'd say slightly cautious. As it could have gone like so many other games where she could have taken the big ones out and then get a much lower offer.

Didn't see this game, but I put slightly cautious, but it depends really on how much the contestant needed the money...

Shame the very cautious is not in the lead.

Well, as I said, she was more frightened about winning a blue than anything else...

And, with all due respect, she really did not have any reason to be like that at 8-box with just two of them left. :eyes: :eyes:

At least no-one has said yet that it wasn't cautious at all. :eyes: :eyes: ;) ;)

*GONG* Voting ends!

So only me and Mark think that it was a very cautious deal... but no-one thinks that it wasn't cautious at all.

That's good enough for me. :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: ;) ;) ;)

Deal-Eye had it down as a Deal, and it wasn't even close. Not cautious at all in my book - couldn't vote though as I steered away from this thread until after the poll closed. :D

*beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

OK, one person thinks that it wasn't cautious at all... but just about everyone else thinks that it was at least slightly cautious. :eyes: :eyes: Image Image

But remember...

Do you see what I was saying there? :eyes:

With just two blues left - one of which was high, remember - it was very unlikely that losing the £100k, plus the £20k or £50k, in the next round would have sent the offer below £1,000. Unless, of course, the Banker chose to be extremely evil... :eyes:

So she could have gone on, lost the £100k and one of those other two big reds, and the offer would more than likely have still been several thousand pounds.

Then she could have taken this offer - and, in doing so, she would have still avoided winning a blue amount... :eyes: ;)

But there was little room for more generosity, and if she did say "I just don't want to go home with a blue" then unless and until she got an all-red board, the Banker had his excuse for much less generous offers.

Which meant that effectively she was committed to the end if she turned down that offer. And she all but admitted she wasn't prepared to play to the end with her admitted fear of a blue win.

There was no other option for her but to Deal.

Yes there was. She had TWO blues.

She clearly couldn't see that at 8 box with just two blues and 6 reds... more chance of a red.
