What a journey eh? Long may it continue

Happy birthday to the forum!

What a 20 years it's been - discussions, arguments, friendships, relationships, bannings... and even a newborn (who's now 18!).

I doubt kestral realised when he set up this place 20 years ago that so many people would become regular posters and visitors, and that such a close-knit community of all different types of people would be formed. A slightly dysfunctional community at times, but still a community.

It was Noel Edmonds who first drew me into DoND but I don't know how long my interest in the show would've lasted without this place. I joined a month after the forum began, and being able to come on here during/after each show and join in the discussion - not to mention number-crunch all the stats - meant it became more than just a TV show to watch.

There are nearly 4,000 registered forum users, and while many people regularly posted for a few months or so, there were dozens who posted virtually every day for a good number of years. If you look back at the show discussion threads from as far back as 2006-9, you'll see quite a few familiar names who still post even now (including me of course...!).

Here's to another 20 years and more!

Wow, can't believe it! 20 years!

I'm not sure I can add much to what H has already written and expressed so well. It's been a journey and not something I envisioned 20 years ago when I thought of creating the website. It wouldn't be where it is today without everyone who has visited and contributed over the years, and I can't thank everyone enough for their time and input to the website.

This site and community will always hold a special place with me, as H mentioned a certain newborn who is now 18 and my whole world wouldn't be here if it wasn't for this site! The whole community who formed around the site is magical, and like every family has it's ups and downs, but are united by the love of one thing, in this case Deal or No Deal.

I vowed when I created this website I would keep it running for as long I could whatever happened to the show, and I still stand by that, so here is to the next 20 years and more.

Thank you all past, present and future members. Without you all this place wouldn't be here.

I love that this forum still exists, not just because it's still great to have dedicated fans to discuss the show with (which it is!), but also because it's a surviving remnant of the mid/late 2000s internet which is rapidly disappearing. In a world with so much short-form content and social media, dedicated text-based forums for niche interests are a welcome relief. Here's hoping it can continue as long as possible.

Congrats everyone! After randomly signing back in today, it's great to see the forum still alive after all these years.

I agree, internet forums have so much more authenticity compared to social media. There is a legacy of the show's history documented here, which is really nice to be preserved and look back on. It's quite timeless in a way to view old episodes and reminisce. I'm also really glad you kept the forum going, even after Noel's era came to a close.
