Just thought there should be a thread to mark the occasion, that's all really!

I can't believe it's two decades now! In 2015 I said the following in this thread to celebrate its 10th birthday - and what I said remains true:

Ok, the forum's quieter than it used to be back in the show's Edmonds era heyday but it's still fairly busy with a mix of old and new faces regularly posting.

I wrote the following post on 27 July 2006 in this thread about why people started watching DoND (apparently I was comma-mad when I was 18!)...

Yippee! Happy 20th to childhood me’s favourite game show, which also just so happens to be one of near-adult me’s favourite game shows too!

Story time, I’m a lot younger than Deal. Not a lot a lot younger, but just young enough to not have been around for the golden years of the show. When I was old enough to understand how the show worked, Deal was the first game show I truly felt attached to, and even today, I’m unsure why or even how it became a big special interest of mine. Was it the numbers with the boxes and prize amounts? All the colours in the Dream Factory? The variety of people on the wings? The overall simplicity of the show compared to every other game show on the market? The theme weeks? I’m still so unsure why exactly I feel in love with the show, but I did. And it really kindled a lifelong love of game shows for me. Even them, I never really payed too much attention to it. And by 2015 or so I practically forgot about it, until 2019-ish and I scrolled along the TV guide and saw Challenge airing reruns of the show’s first 60 or so episodes. I gave it a watch, and fell in love with it all over again, but the problem with that was that the show had long been over and Challenge hardly aired reruns of it. So I kinda just went back to forgetting the show existed. I discovered the American version at least, and it was somewhat enjoyable, but it never had the same sort of style the UK version had. But eventually, I discovered an online community for the show with this forum, who were uploading all the old episodes! And it gave me the chance to watch a lot of the stuff I had only heard about. And eventually the show got revived in 23, and I was intrigued. And I’ve quite enjoyed it! It’s got flaws, but it’s a really good effort all things considered, which is evident given I’ve stuck around for 98% of the revival’s run, aside from 1 or 2 episodes I skipped out on cause I was out or whatever. And I’ll certainly be there for many more years to come.

Even if I’m not the most active here (prolly since I'm a modern day Gen-Z kid who doesn’t use forums much lol. I’m more active on the Discord) this forum really makes me happy. Seeing so many people who are big fans of a show like this warms my heart. It brings me joy that people share an interest with me for a game show like this. And here’s to 20 more years hopefully!

Is it ok if i can have a link to the discord? would love to discuss the show more

Happy 21st birthday!

And as if this weekend, DoND has officially "gotten the key to the door"!
