Got this email last night....

After doing my audition and getting to my 5 minute interview I got this...

22nd October 2008.

Thank you for attending a Deal or No Deal audition.

Unfortunately you have not been chosen to be a contestant on the programme.

Due to the high volume of applicants we receive we can only offer one audition per person and therefore we are unable to process any further applications for 'Deal or No Deal' from you.

If you want to apply for other Endemol UK shows, please go to www.beonendemolshows.com and register your details on the general database or apply for other specific shows.

Thank you once again for taking the time to attend the audition and we hope that you will continue to enjoy the show.

With kindest regards,

The Deal or No Deal Team

That's a shame. :( I read a while back that it's a 1 in 50,000 chance or something of getting on the show due to the vast number of people applying, so only a very select few actually get to go on the show.

I wonder if that's still the case now? Definitely likely a few years ago but i wonder if they still get so many people applying, especially because it seems they are going back and asking people who applied ages ago to audition.

I heard they got a record number of applications last time, which surprised me as I didn't think demand would be so high now. However it's probably due to the "apply online" adverts they aired during the breaks on DOND, as well as the fact applying online is easier and quicker (when the system works) than the old style "fill in on paper and post it" application system.

I suspect that the only applications they've dealt with this year though are the ones who applied using the online system in January... as it had more questions than the old paper form had, meaning applications made 2 / 3 years ago have probably been destroyed by now.

All my friends say I should go on given my knowledge about the game but I don't think I have a chance (I can actually read a board/offer for a start!) :)

I did start to fill in the online form and I found the questions absolutely impossible to think of answers for - I thought applying for jobs was hard enough but this.....

Yeah, trying to fill in that form made me realise that I'm in no way interesting or entertaining enough to be on the show. "Write a poem about DOND"? *beep* off....

Just don't think too hard about what you put on the form, be yourself. They are looking for nice people (well that's what the producer told me), not all singing, dancing comedians. They're not bothered whether you can read the game or not, in fact that would probably make you more interesting to them.

It's nice that they have started to reply to say people haven't got on (if you know what I mean) because when I went for my audition, they said that they would let you know within 12 months, but if you didn't hear then you hadn't got on. That's a long time to wait and hope.

Exactly - it's been one whole year today since I got the call from Dave...still nothing. Seeing as the number of people applying to be on the show has never been so high before, I think appearing on Deal or No Deal in any other form than just the audience will now be a pipedream...

Sorry to hear you've been turned down :(

Even when my SD told me she'd been accepted I had no idea what an achievement that was! She told me later that of the 600 people who turned up at her audition, 300 were sent home by lunchtime and only 10 were chosen to appear on the show so the odds are very very low :smt009

Hi,
Sorry to hear you didn't make it onto the show. If I may ask, when was you're audition?

Kind regards.

I had a call last summer and am in that void period. I was so nervously excited when they called I think I babbled a bit. And they called during DOND (I was watching an earlier version recorded on Sky+) and I tried to explain this into the conversation as I didn't want them thinking I wasn't watching, lol. I suppose not knowing is better, but I just wanna get a chance to play the board... the money is nice, but I'm now focussed on getting in that chair for "the experience" all the players go on about.

Waiting and wondering :ponder:
