Noel's box open order

In the old days, Noel used to get angry with a contestant if they opened the box without being prompted by him, because it was normally:

Contestant: Box 5, Jenni, please.
Noel: Ok, Jenni, open box 5, you know what we don't want to see.
Jenni: Ok, good luck. [Opens box]

(Jenni was just a random name I thought of by the way!)

If the box was opened before Noel had given his permission, he used to say, "WAIT!"... I remember once, it may have been Beryl (or was it June?), she pulled the seal before Noel said to open it, Noel got angry, so she pretended to put the seal back on, waited for Noel to give his say-so, then opened it pretending the seal was still intact!

Nowadays, Noel doesn't seem too bothered about whether or not he gives permission to open the box... he only seems to intervene these days if they're going to a break at the point of that particular box opening.

I think he got angry with Beryl, but when he got angry with June, Raj scared Noel away (good old Raj) :-D

He doesn't give permission anymore though, they just say good luck and open the box. Its not as fun as it used to be...

It was Marilyn who tried to stick the seal back on, in her first show (Anna's). I remember when Beryl just whacked it open straight away...Beryl rocked.

I still really want this to happen:

Noel: Wendy, please open Box 5.
Wendy: No.

Anyone who does that will automatically become the coolest player ever.

Oooh I remember Noel telling Mumtaz off once because she pulled the seal off without his say so and made her write "I must not pull the seal off without Noel's permission" x 100. I can't remember whose game it was though, ah Mumtaz was legendary...

I remember watching Mumtaz's game on a handheld TV in our car in the car park of B & Q... it was a choice of going around B & Q looking at kitchens, or staying in the car and watching DOND... so I watched DOND! I'm sure I also set the video for it... but I can't remember where I recorded it...

Noel still ticks contestants off if they fail to open their boxes correctly, and tells them to stay behind for box opening class.
