I'm a few days behind as usual (watching Carols' game on my Sky+ at the moment), but I have to say that I have been really enjoying the DOND games so far this month.

For quite a while, in the second half of 2008, there seemed to me to be a bad period where most games were getting quite dull and disinteresting, I still watched every show, but my interest in DOND was being tested.

But.................... I am delighted to say that I have been really enjoying the January 2009 shows, there's been a good set of contestants, some genuine gamblers, big wins, big money often on the table, many banker spankings, deals that have back-fired in a big way, plenty of laughs and excitement in nearly every show.

So I am delighted. Does anybody else agree/disagree?

Yeah, the show's are getting much better and "The Unlucky Era" may have long gone for a long time

yes, i think it is. I came back at new year and it seems to be. Decent amount of variety not like the vast majority of 2008 which had cowardly deals, trainwrecks and knee jerk reactions from endemol.

You still get a few/some overcautious deals but it's nearly back to 2006 which is a good thing.

I watch every show on the basis that you never know what to expect!

Yes, some games are more 'entertaining' than others, but I have big respect in the way that the contestants are selected, and I grow to like them each game!

I'd love to be a part of it!

There's definitely variety in the show at the moment, which is good. I just don't want the game to flip the other way and today's game strongly threatens that :(

The show never bores me - it has changed immensely over the last 12 months since the offers began to deteriorate...but ever since Geraint's game I really think the show has had a mini revival...obviously not so mini now! :P

The games for most of 2008 suffered appallingly bad luck, and the players who did have the luck seemed to end up dealing too soon.

Luckily the luck has been back recently and there have been some great shows and entertaining contestants since the autumn - Billy, Lauren, Mary, Constance, Christmas Star Ian, Keran, Carol... to name just a few.

And with a good mix of contestants on at the moment, I think there should be some more good shows coming up (Walter's should be a cracker at least!).

I've certainly enjoyed the show more to end of 2008/start of 2009. Not only have there been some exciting & tense games lately, but there have been some great contestants & banter.

Compared to this time last year & December 2007 the show has, for me at least, improved in terms of overall entertainment and i'm sure the next few months of the show the show will continue to be entertaining too.

This time last year we was struggling for entertainment, we had Reg and that was pretty much it until others like Dirty George turned up. But we have a fair few characters on the show at the moment, Alfonso, Walter, Michael and Ade to name but a few!

This last two and a bit months (I was going to say since Keran's game, but the week up to it was pretty good, even Lee winning nothing was quite funny in its own way!) have been the best for at least a year I'd say. December was one of my favourite months ever even though the early part of the month was nothing to write home about, and January is seeing (with the odd exception like Steve's game) the offers being about right for the boards and contestnts who are genuinely unpredictable. A few less of these "forced blue wins" and I'll be happy. :)

People mention Jan/Feb last year as being rubbish but i thought it was the best part of the year apart from the very end. There was the trio of funny old men being cheerleaders next to the board (Reg, George and Derek), Bing was entertaining, as were some others like Justin and 1p Simon, and Martin had his funny clusters of 3 system, yes it was OK. And there was a lot fewer trainwrecks!!

It wasn't until April it became really rubbish for me! :)

It is. Like people have said, since the end of November the show has been brilliant.

December was amazing, especially the Santa/Scrooge shows. And the games this month have been brilliant as well (with the odd exception).

I'm certainly happy.
