March Show of the Month - Heat 1

Ex-DoND contestant (show #992, 23 March 2009)

To start the first heat, Andy did a cautious deal at £8,000 but could've had £30,000; Margaret ended up in the 1p club; Joy had a heartbreaker of a game winning £100; and Steve won just £250 - creating one of the worst weeks ever in the history of DOND.

Sarah turned things around with an £18,500 OPW, and then George dealt at £15,000, declined the banker's "undeal" offer and scored an OPW, followed by Ruth who dealt at £14,000 but had £50,000 in her box. To finish this heat, we have Phil who won £8,750 but could've had more earlier in his game, and finally Laura, who scored a technical player win with her £16,500 win.

Sarah in this one, it sounds like the best game to me.

No stand-outs here. I think George just about wins it though. Sarah's and Phil's were also good...

I think it has to be Phil's. It's the only excitement I got out of the bunch.

Nearly went for Sarah, as I was so happy she completley owned the banker, but I went for Laura...

I did really like Sarah's, Laura's and Dirty George's games, but I'm going for Phil overall due to the point of contention about the no-swap offer at the end!

Went for Sarah's game.

A pretty lacklustre selection here it has to be said... I think, based on entertainment value, I'm actually going to go for Margaret as I found her fun and the game was, undoubtedly, tense.

I voted for Margaret. Her's and Joy's are the only games from that which I actually remember well, and Joy's game was awful.

I went for Joy's game. For me it was a very memorable game, though not for the right reasons. However I did find Joy in her game very entertaining and despite one of the worst endings in the show she was a good character whilst there and her banter with Noel & the Banker I found really funny, especially the comment about "why bridge is like sex" from the Banker.

I have only read about most of these games but I'll go for George.
